COOL BABY BIRTHDAY PARTY INFO

Cool Baby provides unique birthday parties for children (1 to 12 yrs old.) who enjoy art, music, yoga, and fun!  Using our highly trained teachers, who teach our #1 ranked kids’ enrichment classes, we can accommodate ten to forty kids in our studio.  Another benefit of hosting your party at Cool Baby is that your guests may use our Family Lounge/PlayZone, and our Art Splash Zone at no extra charge.  We also have a fully equipped family bathroom with changing table, and a helpful friendly staff to make your event as enjoyable as possible for you and your guests.

We specialize in the following parties:

Kid Yoga Party– Our Golden-Bridge trained teacher, Crystal, or one of our other fun Kid Yoga instructors incorporates animal-themed yoga poses, fun chanting, music, and yoga freeze dance to entertain and exercise partygoers.  For ages 4 yrs. to 12 yrs.

Bang-A-Drum Party – This is an unforgettable party parents will enjoy as much as the kids!  Chris Reid, creator of Bang-a-Drum, takes kids and parents on a fun musical journey, using drums and percussion instruments from around the world.  For ages 1-99 yrs.

Abrakadoodle Art Party– Highly acclaimed Abrakadoodle art teachers lead kids in hands-on arts and crafts projects that allow kids to learn about texture, color, shapes, and more, while encouraging them to express themselves creatively.  Kids take home their cool art work in an Abrakadoodle frame as a fun keepsake.  For ages 20 mos to 12 yrs.

Circus Kids Party – Includes Parent & Me Circus, Kid Circus, Family Circus or Adults Only Circus.  Guests have a blast learning acrobatics, tumbling, juggling, spinning of plates, and even aerial stunts, depending on ages.  For kids 1 yr (walking) to 12 yrs.

Disco, Dance & Play Parties – Kids and parents learn disco moves, play freeze dance, hula hoop and dance the day away.  For kids 2 and up.

 

Project T-Shirt Design – Kids and parents design their own cool t-shirts or onesies using fabric paint, stamps, brushes, and more.  Kids take home their creations to wear and remember your party by.

 

Any of the above parties can be customized for Adult Birthday Parties (psssst…dads love drum circles.  Moms love disco.) or baby showers (onesies painted by your friends make for a great baby wardrobe)

RATES/SERVICE DETAILS:
$18-$25 per child with a 12 child minimum.  A personalized birthday banner is included with every party.

 

The space fee is $250 for families enrolled in a Cool Baby class and $325 for anyone not enrolled in a class (note: you may sign up your child or a friend for a class to qualify for the reduced space fee), which provides you with one Cool Baby Party Coordinator to help you set-up and manage your party, and includes all clean-up, and rental of space for TWO hours. All parties must conclude within 15 minutes of scheduled party end time.  Additional time beyond scheduled party end time will be billed at $50 per 15 minutes, unless agreed upon otherwise with Cool Baby before hand.  Parents may come in one hour before party or arrange food or equipment to be delivered one hour before party.

 

Available party start times are Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm to 3pm or when Cool Baby classes are not in session.

 

Cool Baby Cupcake Decorating Station is a great activity to occupy kids and let them express their creativity after your main party activity. Cool Baby provides a decorating station with icing tubes, frosting, sprinkles, and other fun decorations. Kids and parents will have a blast.  $3.50 per cupcake.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

What do I need to do to reserve a date?  Call us at (323) 935-3084 or email us at coolbaby@mac.com and give us the day, date, and time you would like to reserve.  Parents book dates far in advance so call as soon as you are even considering an event at Cool Baby so that you are not disappointed.  Reservations can be secured with a non-refundable $200 deposit, payable with credit card, check or cash.

Can I bring in my own cake and food and drinks?  Yes.  We recommend finger foods to make it easier on yourself and to make less mess.  Since Cool Baby parties are neither at lunch nor dinner time, your guests do not expect a meal.  With small children, the fewer utensils, the better, too.  We will provide two banquet tables and two kids’ tables.  Parents are responsible for providing food and drinks and ice if necessary.  Unless you pre-arrange food or a cupcake station to be provided by Cool Baby, parents need to bring all food and beverages (including cake and candles) and all paper goods/serving utensils.  If you would like Cool Baby to provide these items, there will be a minimum $50 service charge.  Cool Baby does have two small thermal tabletop drink containers for juice boxes or other refreshments.  Non-Cool Baby Cupcake stations are not permitted.

 

WilI I be charged for siblings of my child’s friends who may come to the party but are too little to participate in Yoga, Drums, or Abrakadoodle art?  No.  You will not be charged for kids not participating, however, they are welcome to access our paint zone room and play zone at no extra charge to you.  Parents are also not charged unless the party is designed for parents to participate, as well.

 

What about parking?  Fortunately, we are one of the only Kids’ spaces that has our own parking.  Please direct your guests to park in our rooftop parking Cool Baby spaces or in the underground garage next to us.  You will not be towed despite signs in the underground garage because the other businesses on are block are closed on weekends and we have a friendly arrangement with them.

 

Do you recommend invitations?  We like Sendomatic.com.  A little more unique than Evite and includes animation and music in their designs.  First 4 are free and you can forward from an already sent invite to others to avoid charges, if you like.  Many Cool Baby parents have gotten great response from these e-invitations and Sendomatic has yoga/art/drum themed email cards.  Note: read the FAQs section carefully to prevent your invites going to your friends’ spam.

 

Does Cool Baby decorate?  At Cool Baby we hang a custom birthday banner for the birthday boy or girl and we provide a colorful creative space.  Parents may bring in any decorations they like and our coordinator will help you place them, however, we find that our unique activities at our parties provide so much fun and our space is so colorful and creative that few decorations are necessary.

 

What if I would like to host a party at Cool Baby that is not yoga, art, circus or music-themed?  Cool Baby is open to discussing your party ideas with you as long as the party fits our Cool Baby philosophy of being unique and creative.  We can also work with some of our favorite kid party providers to plan a memorable event at Cool Baby.

 

Do I need to rent chairs and tables?

Cool Baby provides two kid-size banquet tables and two regular banquet size tables.  We have 15 kid chairs.  If you need more, we can arrange tables and chairs through Bubbles Party Rental for an additional cost if you prefer.  Chairs are .60 cents each, no delivery or minimum charge.

 

What about Goodie Bags?

We can provide Cool Baby bags with colorful tissue and a Cool Baby Class Coupon for your guests for .50 cents a bag (these are better quality bags than the ones you will find for three times more at party stores).  We can also provide Cool Baby retail items at a group discount if you would like to stuff your gift bags with such items.  For goodie bag items, we recommend breaking up a box of “52 Fun Things To Do” cards or “Yoga Deck Cards” or “Squirties” and separating them among your guests.  Other inexpensive fun items you could provide in goodie bags are: colorful pencils, stickers, stampers, crazy crayons, little Playdoh containers, books.

 

What if my number of guests changes?

On the Tuesday before your party we will call for the final RSVP count.  On the day of your party, we will charge you for that number of guests even if the actual number of children attending is lower. We do this because that is the number we will prepare for.  Cupcake orders must be in by the Tuesday before.  We recommend a maximum of 1 cupcake per child.

 

Do you recommend photographers?  We recommend Shlomit Levy Bard, who specializes in photojournalistic style prints.  Her work with Day One Photography has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, The Lila Guide, and on HGTV.

 

Do I have to tip my coordinator?  Tipping is not required or expected. If you would like to tip our party staff, they can only accept cash.

 

What do parents do during the parties?  Parents are welcome to hang out in our parent lounge or mingle with each other in our gift shop area or party room where we can set up a food table.  We recommend that for Kid Yoga parties if parents wish to watch their children, they keep their voices low and not distract the kids.  Kids seem to have more fun if parents are not watching the entire time.  If you want a party in which the parents are really involved and have as much fun as the kids, the Bang-A-Drum party is your best bet. Parents can also participate or watch more closely with Abrakadoodle art without interrupting.  For some of our birthday parties, parents will inform their guests on the invitation that parents are more than welcome to drop their children off for the first hour for the supervised part of the birthday party and come back for the cupcake station and more.  Other parents have organized fun mingling things for the parents to do, such as playing the celebrity guessing game.

 

Anything else I should know?

1) Prices and offerings on website and fliers are subject to change. Please check with staff to confirm most up to date info.  2) For our celebrity clients we have a strict privacy policy and employees have signed waivers restricting them from contacting paparazzi or magazines. 3) We have done quite a few parties and everyone always has a blast, so just relax and enjoy your child’s momentous event!
